Pastor Jennifer Fair

 

Pastor Jennifer Fair has been serving Immanuel Church since September 21, 2014.  Previously, Pastor Jen served as the pastor of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

 

Pastor Jen graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in May 2012, earning a Master’s of Divinity and a Certification in Youth and Young Adult Ministry.  Pastor Jen did her undergraduate work at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in Education of Exceptional Persons/ Elementary Education and minored in Educational Psychology.  Additionally, she completed an internship with the IUP religious studies department as part of the Harvard Pluralism Project, played mellophone for the IUP Marching Band and sang with the University Chorus.  Pastor Jen is a graduate of Ridgway Area High School in Ridgway, Pennsylvania. 

 

During seminary, Pastor Jen served as a chaplain student at the VA Medical Center in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, a Clinical Pastoral Education student at Phoebe (Berks) Nursing Home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, and as student pastor at Hamilton Park United Church of Christ in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  Pastor Jen was ordained as a pastor of the United Church of Christ on October 28, 2012 at Faith United Church of Christ in Ridgway, Pennsylvania.

 

Since graduating from seminary, Pastor Jen has endeavored to continue her professional devolopment.  Pastor Jen is a member of the Mercersberg Society, an ecumenical society which studies the theology of the German Reformed Church and its contemporary application.  Pastor Jen is also a fully professed sister in the Order of Corpus Christi, a Protestant religious order centered on Benedictine spirituality and Holy Communion.  Pastor Jen became certified as a New Church Planter by the Center for Progressive Renewal since October 2013.

 

When she has time, Pastor Jen enjoys playing French horn, piano, singing, theater, reading and movies.  Her other interests outside of church include education, psychology and disability advocacy.  Originally from Maryland, Pastor Jen has lived in Ohio, Illinois and several places in Pennsylvania.  Pastor Jen has also traveled internationally twice: once as a student teacher to Arnhem, the Netherlands and once to Thailand as part of her seminary program.
